Sonoma is an established, beautifully mature gated community located in the heart of Viera, Florida. Built in the early 2000s by premier homebuilders Lennar Homes and Burgoon and Berger. This neighborhood features 384 single-family home sites, built around expansive, glittering lakes and lush green spaces.
While Sonoma does not have a community swimming pool—largely because the vast majority of individual homes here feature their own private pools—the neighborhood boasts a robust, highly active recreational park.

When touring Sonoma, buyers are consistently blown away by two things: the lot sizes and the location. Because this community was developed in the early 2000s, you get the distinct advantage of mature tree canopies and massive lot sizes—ranging from 75 to 130 feet wide, pushing up to nearly half an acre. The homes themselves are substantial, ranging from 1,500 to over 3,600 square feet, frequently featuring brick paver driveways, outsized garages, and hurricane shutters.
The location is arguably the best in Viera. You can safely drive your golf cart or walk directly across Stadium Parkway to the Stadium Corners Shopping Center to hit Publix, grab Starbucks, or pick up takeout. You are also within walking/biking distance to A-rated schools like Manatee Elementary and Viera High School, and Interstate 95 is just two minutes away.
However, there are two crucial logistical points buyers must know. First, Sonoma is not a natural gas community. Second, if you purchase one of the premium lakefront lots, the HOA has strict fencing rules to preserve the water views. You cannot put a fence entirely around your backyard. You are permitted to use white vinyl fencing on the sides of your home to create a dog run, but your rear view to the water must remain open.
